YOUTH CHANGES OF THE WORLD: Kigali, kicukiro distrci, Rwanda; Introduction of the Youth ChangeS the World (YCW) In January 2008, 105 students from the school LYCEE DE KICUKIRO APADE in Kigali, Rwanda, came together to found the YCW. Having been engaged already in numerous activities such as workshops and debates on genocidal issues, the students were eager to create a non-profit organization, whose overall aim is to work for a better future, in which the youth shares nourishing ideas for the creation of a peaceful world. Wars which kill innocent people, Genocide and its ideology and the ignorance of human rights have become major challenges in the world, also in the African Great Lakes region. In order to combat the threats, collective effort from all around the world must be made. Therefore, YCW steps in to - Support Rwanda’ s zero tolerance in regards to Genocidal ideology - Identify and share the views of the youth - Prioritize the importance of children and represent them before the decision-makers - Promote the awareness on human rights especially children rights The club members believe that the aims can only be reached via the young people’s self-esteem, which strongly affects

Having been engaged already in numerous activities such as workshops and debates on genocidal issues, the students were eager to create a non-profit organization, whose overall aim is to work for a better future, in which the youth shares nourishing ideas for the creation of a peaceful world. Wars which kill innocent people, Genocide and its ideology and the ignorance of human rights have become major challenges in the world, also in the African Great Lakes region. In order to combat the threats, collective effort from all around the world must be made. Unless the goal of a peaceful world has not been reached, the hearts will not be content. The club welcomes all who share similar moral guidelines to become part of moral guidelines to become part of YCWM and contribute with their individual skills in diverse fields such as o Moral imagination. o Research and survey o Dance, music and drama o Literature and art creativity o Debates, dialogue and discussion o Preaching a religion that triggers hope and makes people act responsibly o Teaching ideas and fundaments of creating peaceful togetherness
